What Do Sessions Look Like?

We begin by assessing your child's strengths and needs. Using various assessment tools and methods, collecting data, and analyzing results, our team of professionals can determine skills that need support, as well as the child strengths to support that. Our behavior analysts will interview the caregivers, observe the child in their natural environment, as well as probe the child's responses and behaviors. This will help create a detailed treatment plan with clear goals.

Early sessions are mostly about building a relationship with the child and the family to better understand the child's profile and environment. This also gives the analysts first hand knowledge about the client's preferences, and how to use that to make therapy fun and engaging for our client, because we know children learn better when they are engaged and having fun.

Because the family is the client's support system, Caregiver Training is provided to help them do that job with confidence. Caregivers learn about the basic concepts of behavior, how to implement the treatment plan, and how to support their child outside ABA sessions. The ultimate goal is that eventually clients graduate therapy and caregivers feel equipped for the future. In addition, this allows continuous collaboration between the ABA team and the family.

The treatment plans include teaching the child the basic skills they need to thrive in their environments, whether it is at home, at school, or in the community. Through naturalistic teaching and play, the child acquires skills in the domains of functional communication, socialization, play, and school-readiness. The assessments help guide the treatment to build the skills from their foundations but teaching the pre-requisite skills needed.

Through client-led activities, the child engages with our certified behavior technicians (RBT) in play and preferred activities. This allows for learning opportunities for our team to build up their skills gradually without causing stress or trauma. With behavior support, the child will learn how to handle stressful situations and triggers. They learn how to regulate their emotions and how to advocate for themselves.

Using data and scientific methods, goals are monitored and evaluated regularly to ensure the child's success. We treasure the trust and time we have with your child. We commit to achieving the best results for your child using evidence-based and ethical ABA therapy. treatment plans are continually updated to adapt to the child's needs as they grow and develop.
